“Sport has always been a massive part of my life. From cricket to soccer to AFL and water polo in the early stages I later went on to find my forte in swimming. Throughout my swimming career, I had the fortunate opportunity to compete at a National level and at times representing my home state of Tasmania. As my swimming career progressed, I developed a strong passion for learning about the human body, how it moves and knew I wanted to make a career out of it to continue this learning.

I initially set off to Melbourne to study a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science which allowed me to gain experience with the Victorian Institute of Sport in the swimming biomechanics team. Here I learnt valuable skills from some of the best in skill and technique coaching in combination with movement and video analysis.

Upon completion of my Exercise Science Degree, I set my sights on Physiotherapy as my end goal which allowed me to study a Masters of Physiotherapy in my new home, the Gold Coast. Over the course of the next few years of studying physiotherapy, my interests resided in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sport. My main interest areas lay within chronic/persistent pain, knees, ankles (brewed from my own injury experience), shoulders, the neck and lower back just to name a few.

From my own history of an ankle injury, I know there’s nothing worse than not being able to do the things we love (for me that’s my golf and surfing). As a result, in my sessions I use a combination of hands-on treatment techniques, exercise and education to not only get my clients back to the things they love but to also have an understanding of their condition.

Outside the clinic you’ll find me out on the golf course, surfing, swimming or travelling the Queensland/New South Wales coast. I’m also a very passionate AFL fan getting behind the Essendon Football Club trying to get to as many games as I can.”
